Trip Time Trial suit.
Extensively updated and improved for 2019/2020 the Nopinz/Aerocoach Trip-suit is now even faster! Featuring Aerostripe back and side panels plus an improved cut, the suit is optimised for average speeds of 45-49kph. Testing has shown a 3W improvement over the best previous 2017 version.
ATS™ – Aero Trip Strips
Aerocoach’s innovative “ATS™” technology is the implementation of raised surfaces of different sizes and shapes, used on products to improve their aerodynamics. The purpose of “ATS™” is to “trip” the airflow around an object, in this case, the rider’s body, to keep the air attached for longer and reducing the aerodynamic drag.
Open vs. Closed design
From our testing, we established two designs of the suit – for Open and Closed aero positions.
An Open position refers to either when a rider has their elbow pads far apart, or they are a larger rider. For these riders, there is more airflow in between the arms and around underneath the torso. For an Open Tripsuit, there is “ATS™” in these locations to manipulate the airflow and reduce aerodynamic drag.
A Closed position is when the rider has narrow elbow bar pads and the majority of the air is pushed around the outside of the body. In this instance, the “ATS™” is placed on the outer arms only.
Measuring whether you need an Open or Closed Tripsuit is simple – you just need to measure your aero bar pads, if they are over 16cm centre to centre.
